Privacy
friendfriendfriends introduces you to one friend of a friend each week, on the website and in the iOS and Android apps. It is run by Mindful Imagination Works LLC ("we", "us"). This page explains what we keep, why, and how to delete it.
What we store
- Your email address, to sign you in with a one-time code or link and to send you your intros.
- Your profile: first name, city, a short line about you, what you're up for, and, if you add them, your X and Instagram handles.
- Vouches: who vouched for whom. This is how we find friends of friends.
- Intros and answers: who you were introduced to each week, the one-line reason the matchmaker gave (if any), and whether you said yes.
- A sign-in session, stored as a scrambled (hashed) token so it can't be reused if our database were read.
- In the app, a push notification token, so we can tell your phone when your intro arrives or when you both said yes.
- For rate limiting, a scrambled (hashed) version of your network address that expires within an hour. We never store raw IP addresses.
- Blocks and reports: if you block or report someone, we keep that so you're never introduced again, and so we can act on reports. A report includes the reason you picked and anything you wrote. The person you block or report isn't told.
- Age confirmation: the date you confirmed you're 18 or older and agreed to the community guidelines.
- Waitlist: if you join the waitlist, your email address and the date you signed up.
We don't use advertising, tracking or analytics tools, and we don't sell or rent anyone's information.
How matching works
Fixed rules decide who can be introduced: you need a mutual friend, a shared interest, the same city (or you both picked "online"), and you've never been introduced before. Among the people who pass, AI ranks who you're most likely to get on with, based only on the profile details above. It can't introduce you to anyone the rules wouldn't, and if it's unavailable, the rules alone decide that week.
Who sees what
- Nothing about you is public, and there are no profiles to browse.
- Your weekly intro sees your first name, city, your line, and what you're both up for, plus the name of the friend you have in common.
- Only after you both say yes do they get your X / Instagram handles, and your email if you chose to share it (or if you have no handles). A "not this time" is never shown to anyone.
- People you vouch for get an email from us naming you as the friend who vouched.
Services we use
- Vercel and Neon host the site and the database.
- Resend sends sign-in codes, invites and intro emails.
- EmailOctopus holds the waitlist, so we can tell people when it's their turn.
- Expo (and through it, Apple and Google) delivers push notifications to the app.
- Anthropic (Claude) helps with the Sunday matching. For people who are already eligible to meet, we send your city, what you're up for and the line you wrote, under a temporary label. We never send your name, email address, handles or account ID. Claude returns how well each pair might get on and a one-line reason, which both people in that intro see. Anthropic doesn't use this data to train its models.
Deleting your data
Choose Delete my account on your profile, on the website or in the app. It permanently removes your profile, vouches, intros, blocks, sessions and push tokens straight away. Safety reports are the one exception: a report someone made about an account is kept, so a removed member can't simply rejoin and repeat the same behaviour. To come off the waitlist, reply to any email from us and we'll remove you.
Age
friendfriendfriends is for adults (18+).
